How to Test a Free LLM API

  1. Select a model from the dropdown (grouped by provider).
  2. Get a free API key — click the "Get [Provider] key →" link that appears. Most require no credit card.
  3. Paste your API key into the input field. Supported providers are called directly from your browser. If a provider requires our server proxy, sign in to send requests.
  4. Type a message and press Enter or click Send.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is my API key stored?

Playground does not save your key. Requests go directly to the provider when browser access is supported; otherwise, sign in to use our server proxy. Keys you explicitly save in Vault are stored separately.

Which models are available?

Playground includes verified online chat-style models that have a usable API endpoint for browser testing. Browse the full provider directory at /providers.

Where do I get a free API key for testing?
